Welcome to Joe's Developer Corner. Here you will find a constantly increasing supply of wisdom nuggets direct from the guru himself. Remember to check back often as Joe is a generally bored and enjoys giving something back to the developer community. All he asks is that if you improve any code you found here, please send the improvements via the contact page. Enjoy!

Lifting Binary Weights - 4/28/2005
A simple, scalable method of implementing object level permissions in Microsoft Access (or VB). I have seen quite a few people posting on Experts Exchange asking about how to implement this so I decided to make an example and do a little writeup on it. As with all my other articles, I actually use a version of this in an application I develop and I have yet to see a simpler approach.

Lotus Notes Calendaring - 4/14/2005 (Updated 5/12/2005)
This is three part, complete explanation on one of the most useful features I have ever developed: integrating Lotus Notes calendaring with VB. As far as I know, vortexwd.net is the only place online that can show you how to Schedule and List Lotus Notes calendar entries from VB or VBA. Enjoy! Part 2 Part3

ADP User Management Example
I came up with a user management example that I was particularly proud of. So I decided to share my good idea with the development community and wrote up a little spiel to send to my friends at Fabalou.com. It's good stuff, check it out.

Lotus Notes Appointment Version 6
Here is an article I wrote for the nice people over at Fabalou.com. While I was working on my Counseling Manager database app I was searching all over for a method of adding calendar entries to a lotus notes calendar via M$ Access and VBA. They had the only code that did anything remotely close on the entire internet. It was outdated and didn't work, so when I fixed it up, I returned the favor and sent them the code (which by the way, I expect you to do if you use and improve any code from this or any other site... it's just common courtesy).
